Graeme Armstrong’s exhibition features mineral pigment photography. He used Broken Hill minerals, crushed and sieved to less than 100 micrometers, in a photosensitive gelatin emulsion. Success came with iron oxides, schists, and mixtures with Galena and slag, producing images with a silver-like tonal range. "A fitting pigment for the ore that made Broken Hill," says Armstrong. terragenius!
