Waste services

Broken Hill City Council has a focus on correct disposal and recycling within the Broken Hill community. Council provides a range of services to the community in waste management, and in late 2012 adopted the 20 Year Integrated Waste Management Strategy to improve our service, following 6 weeks of community consultation. Council operates a free landfill site for its residents. To help Council to keep this facility free, we urge residents to separate their waste as much as possible by using the 'drop off' facility provided at our Landfill and Waste Depot in Wills Street.

Broken Hill City Council is one of 28 member councils of the regional network NETWASTE. NETWASTE provides regional based programs and management plans on waste management.

Monday and Friday 8:00am - 5:30pm
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8:00am - 4:00pm
Weekends 8:00am - 4:00pm
Public Holidays (including Council Picnic Day) 8:00am - 2:00pm
