Webinar Consultation for Remote/Regional Communities
Have your say on the design of Foundational Supports for Children in NSW
Your insights are valuable. Join us to help shape new supports for children in NSW.
The NSW Government is working collaboratively to design foundational supports that will provide children and their families with the information, tools, and services they need to improve developmental outcomes as early as possible.
Please come prepared to share your thoughts and ideas your voice will help shape the future of support for children and families across NSW.
We have prepared the following questions for you to think about before attending the webinar:
- What is your personal vision for Foundational Supports for Children in NSW? How should we aim to change things for children with developmental delay and autism and their families in NSW?
- What kinds of services do you hope children and families will be able to use through Foundational Supports?
- If you, had a concern about a child's development, how or where would you like to be able to find out about any supports available?
- Where would you prefer to receive Foundational Supports for Children? (eg. home, community centre, health clinic, etc)
- What approaches work for delivering these services in rural and remote areas? - with the full diversity of families and children who may need Foundational Supports.
- Building on what is already in best practice guidance, is there anything specific you would like Foundational Supports to include to ensure the local communities you are connected to are well served? (e.g. Aboriginal communities or culturally diverse communities)
- How should Foundational Supports services work with families to understand a child and family’s strengths, needs & goals? – to ensure each child and family is connected to the right supports.
- What would you like to see in place to make sure that the services delivered for children and families are safe, culturally safe, inclusive and of a good quality?
This is a 90-minute webinar with many participants, so due to limited time, we may not be able to cover everything through live discussion. Instead, we’re hoping to gather most of your input through the written chat or a short survey during the session. Do not feel you need to provide thoughts on all questions just whatever is important to you (including things not covered by the questions).
You can also share your views by completing the Have your say survey.
