General

What will the festival include?

The festival will include a variety of food vendors, licenced area, live music and DJ, market stalls, retail trading, public street art, and kids area.

A variety of seating will be available throughout the event area.

Is the festival free to attend?

Yes. Beyond the Dust is free for everyone to enjoy, including the live music and public art installations.

Food vendors, market stalls, and participating retailers will be open throughout the event, with cash and card payment options available.

Visit

Where is the information booth located?

The information booth will be situated in Town Square. 

For concerns regarding lost property or children, please visit the staff at the information booth. 

Will there be additional lighting?

Temporary festoon lighting will be installed in the food area in Chloride St.  

Will alcohol be available at the event?

A temporary bar area will be set up in the food vendor area in Chloride St.

Alcohol is available from licenced venues in Argent St under their normal trading conditions.

BYO alcohol is not permitted.  Alcohol can be consumed in the designated area only.

Will toilets be available?

Temporary portable toilets will be available at a number of locations throughout the event area.

The roundhouse toilets on the corner of Chloride and Blende Streets will be open.

Additional portable toilets will be located in Oxide Street and Chloride Street.

Is there a map?

Yes. Closer to the event, a full map including all registered food vendors, market stalls and retailers will be shared.

Transport and Parking

Where do I park?

There is a range of street parking in the immediate vicinity of the event location in Argent Street, Blende Street, and Oxide Street with car parks also located in Beryl Street and Delamore Street. 

Additional street parking can be found on Crystal Street/B79 and in the wider central business district precint, all in a short walk to the event area.

When will road closures occur?

A range of road closures will be in place during Saturday 17 October.

Partial closure times are TBC, but will include:

  • Chloride Street - Blende Street to Argent Street
  • Gawler Place

Full road closure times are TBC, but will include:

  • Oxide Street - Gawler Place to Crystal Lane
  • Argent Street - Delamore Street to Sulphide Street
  • Broken Hill City Council car park

All roads are expected to re-open by midnight.

How do I provide feedback?

I have a market stall, how do I register?

Council invites market stalls to take part in the festival! This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your business, attract new customers, and be part of a buzzing atmosphere.

Stall Holder / Vendor Information

Is there a fee to participate

There is no fee for stall holders, food vendors and retail businesses to be involved in the event.

Bump In / Set Up

A rolling bump in will be scheduled.  Times will be provided directly to registered stalls and vendors prior to the event.

Power

Some additional power will be provided by generators.

Additional Lighting

Festoon lighting will be installed in Chloride Street. 

You will be required to ensure you have sufficient lighting to operate your stall. 

Public Liability Insurance

All temporary stalls and vendors are required to have $20m public liability insurance for the activity undertaken for the event.
