A big pool of Community Assistance Grants (CAG) funding is now available for organisations seeking financial assistance for their event, activity, or programme.
Round 1 of 2019/2020 funding is now open and caters for activities to be held between June and December 2019.
$75,000 is available for the current Round, after $28,000 on funding was rolled over from last year's program.
Mayor Darriea Turley urged local groups to take advantage of the extra funding before applications close on April 30.
"Our CAG program is always a bit of a rollercoaster, sometimes we're completely oversubscribed, and other times we don't have enough applications and we roll the money over," she said.
"On this occasion there's extra money in the purse, so if your community group or event needs funding, be sure to get your submission lodged before the cut-off date."
The last round of funding saw around $19,000 shared amongst community groups, including the Broken Hill Civic Orchestra (BHCO), who received $2,199 for a new Digital Piano.
BHCO President, Mark Curtis, said the CAG program provided an easy avenue for community groups to secure much-needed financial support.
"We'd been in need of a new digital piano for some time, and we were pleased that Council was able to make the funds available," he said.
"We'd definitely encourage others to take advantage of the program."
Those wishing to apply for the CAG program can do so online here.
Applicants must be an incorporated community association/organisation, or a registered not-for-profit association/charitable organisation with an ABN or ACN.
