Council and the YMCA are joining forces to celebrate the 2020 Seniors Festival with a big day of activities at the Broken Hill Regional Aquatic Centre.

All locals over the age of 60 will receive free entry to the centre between 10am-4pm on February 13, and can take part in four free 'come'n'try' exercise sessions.

The sessions will be hosted by qualified YMCA staff, with two aquatic sessions, and two gym-based sessions for those who prefer to stay dry.

The Y's Mens Club will be on hand to provide a free BBQ and cake for lunch, and local support groups The Hearing Centre, LiveBetter, Life Without Barriers, Synergy, and Hammond Care will all have stalls offering service information to attendees.

Mayor Darriea Turley AM encouraged all senior citizens to get involved in the day's activities.

"This is a great opportunity for seniors to enjoy a day out to socialise, get some exercise, and chat with support groups who can provide a range of valuable services," she said.

"We're very happy to again be partnering with the YMCA for the good of our community, and we hope lots of people take advantage of the free day."

This event is supported by the NSW Department of Communities and Justice.
