Cr Bob Algate was re-elected on September 8, 2012.

Cr Algate has a long history with Council, having worked in administration for 38 years before retiring in 2000, prior to becoming a Councillor in 2004.  He was re-elected to Council in 2009.

Cr Algate is committed to being a vital link between the community members and the governing body, the creation of job opportunities in Broken Hill, and the retiring of Council debt.

He is also passionate about restoring and maintaining the city's road and footpath infrastructure, providing core services, maintaining rates at the capped level at all times and encouraging growth in Council's outdoor staffing levels.
