Meetings

Inside the Council chambers

Due to the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, Council’s Ordinary and Extraordinary Meetings will be closed to the public until further notice, as per NSW Government protocol for social distancing and restrictions on indoor gatherings and unnecessary travel.

The meetings will be conducted via videoconference and a recording of the meetings will be available on Council’s website/Facebook page as soon as possible following the meeting.

A Public Forum Session will be held prior to the meeting, commencing at 6.15pm and concluding at 6.30pm. Members of the public wishing to participate in the Public Forum Session are requested to email submissions relating to items in the Business Paper to council@brokenhill.nsw.gov.au .  Submissions will be accepted up until 4:00pm the day prior to the Council Meeting, to allow for the submissions to be circulated to Councillors.  The submissions will be read by the Mayor during the Public Forum Session.

Ordinary Council meetings are held at 6:30pm on the last Wednesday of every month, unless changed by a resolution of Council. Typically Council resolves to hold their December meeting earlier in the month and does not hold a meeting in January.

Council agendas are made publicly available and are usually uploaded on to Council's website the Friday prior to the ordinary monthly Council meeting.

Minutes from the previous Council meeting are also made publicly available as soon as is possible after they have been confirmed at the following monthly meeting.

Agendas and minutes can also be viewed at the City Library or at Council's Administrative Centre.
