Council wants to hear locals' thoughts on what makes Broken Hill a great place to live, and how our city can be improved in the coming years.

Change management specialists Astrolabe Group are currently working with Council to create a new Liveability and Housing Strategy, and a survey is now available online for residents to provide input.

In addition to the survey, locals can provide feedback by attending a drop-in session with Astrolabe Group and Council staff at the Civic Centre between 5.30pm-7.30pm on Tuesday, November 15.

Council's Executive Manager Growth & Investment, Anne Andrews, said the strategy would help provide a long term vision to ensure Broken Hill remains a great place to live, work, and invest.

"Liveability is a big focus for the Council, especially with the current pressure on housing and accommodation that is being driven by growth in the mining sector," said Ms Andrews.

"This Strategy will take a broader view on liveability than just housing however; we need to consider what current and prospective residents are going to need for the future with regard to local services, parks and amenities, accessibility, and a range of other factors.

"I'd encourage everyone to take a few minutes to complete the survey or drop in and have a chat with staff on Tuesday to help shape the future of our city."
