Enjoy an outdoor cinema experience in the park for all ages!

Bring along your chairs, rugs, or cushions, and sit back and enjoy two free movie screenings.

Screening from 6pm with Sketch (PG) followed by How To Train Your Dragon Live Action (PG) at 7.45pm.

Free food and refreshments available to eligible youth between 12-24 years on site, along with glow in the dark soccer and volleyball.

Make your own pizza from scratch at the Library this school holidays!

Follow along in the Makerspace as staff demonstrate how to make pizza dough from scratch, then pick out your toppings and design your ideal mini pizza!

Cook the pizza in our communal Library kitchen, and then take it to the Courtyard for lunch.

Adults MUST be in attendance with children throughout the event.

If your child has any allergens and would like to attend the event, please phone the library or come in and speak with staff.

Celebrate spring by creating your own colourful garden creatures from air-dry clay.

Children can sculpt snails, slugs, caterpillars, birds, beetles or an imaginary garden creature before adding colour, decorative details and a clear varnish. Each child will create a unique clay artwork to take home.

Discover the magic of sunlight in this hands-on cyanotype workshop for children.

Participants will arrange leaves, flowers and other interesting objects on specially prepared paper before exposing their designs to sunlight. They will then develop their prints in water and watch their pictures transform into brilliant shades of blue.

All materials are supplied, and children can take their completed prints home.

Drop into the Gallery and learn simple macramé techniques while creating your own miniature character keyring or colourful knotted design.

Choose your colours, learn a few basic knots and make a fun handmade keyring to take home. This relaxed activity is suitable for beginners of all ages, young and old.

Saturday 3 October | 2–4 pm | Ages 13+ | $40 or $35 Gallery members

Explore cyanotype, an early photographic printing process that uses sunlight to create striking blue-and-white images.

Participants will use a photograph or objects on light-sensitive paper before exposing and developing their compositions. The workshop will also explore how photographic images can be transformed into detailed cyanotype prints.

No previous experience is required, and all materials are supplied.

Tuesday 6 October | 3.30–5 pm | All ages | $35 or $30 Gallery members

Create a colourful still-life painting inspired by an arrangement of Australian wildflowers.

Children will work with acrylic paints, while teenagers and adults can experiment with impasto techniques to add texture and dimension. Participants will be guided through colour, shape and composition before creating their own wildflower painting to take home.

No previous painting experience is required, and all materials are supplied.

The House That Dan Built is bringing a free, high-energy week of music-making and animation to Broken Hill.

Young people can develop skills in singing, songwriting, recording, ukulele playing and stop-motion animation. No previous experience is required. Whether participants are trying something new or already creating music, the program is designed to build confidence, creativity and performance skills.

Morning sessions from 10 am–12 pm are designed for ages 10–13, while afternoon sessions from 1–3 pm are for ages 14–24. Individual sessions are also available.

Join us in celebrating our talented performing arts community as competitors from as young as 5 Years to Adults take to the stage.

Performing dances over multiple categories such as Hip Hop, Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Lyrical.

The event will showcase our local Dance Studios and competitors from across NSW.

With professional adjudication by Mildura’s Ballet and Dance Guild, Ms Janine Kerr.
