Families are invited to a massive free day of games, sport, and activities in Sturt Park on Sunday (June 19) for ACTIVE FEST.

ACTIVE FEST will run from 10am-4pm and feature laser tag, games, giveaways, workshops, demonstrations, activities for people with impaired mobility, and a colour run.

Tennis NSW will join the local Tennis and Netball Associations to teach kids sporting fundamentals, and Sydney-based skateboarding professionals Totem Collective will travel to the city to host skateboarding lessons on the new skate park.

All activities will be free on the day, however places are limited for the skateboarding workshops, and bookings can be made here.

Live music will be provided by Leroy Johnson and the Waterbag Band from midday, and a host of community groups will be selling hot food and drinks.

Council's Community Development Officer, Dionne Devlin, said she hoped plenty of locals would take advantage of the free day.

"This event is to encourage the whole community to be more physically active, try new activities, and also to get information about local groups and the NSW Active Kids vouchers," said Ms Devlin.

"I'd just like to thank all our partners and community groups for their support in providing this event to the city's families."

ACTIVE FEST has been supported by the NSW Government, YMCA, PCYC, Social Futures, 2DryFM, local service clubs, local sports clubs, Tennis NSW, Tai Chi, Totem Collective and Creative Community Concepts.
