The top 41 entries in the renowned Pro Hart Outback Art Prize will be judged during a gala exhibition at the Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery on Friday night.

The Prize again attracted a record-breaking number of entries, with 382 works considered by a panel judges featuring Artistic Director of TARNANTHI Festival and Curator of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art, Art Gallery of South Australia, Nici Cumpston.

This year's $23,000 prize pool consists of an Acquisitive First Prize, a Non-Acquisitive Second Prize and a People’s Choice Award.

"The evening is always such a highlight for everyone with an interest in art," said Mayor Turley.

"The Prize continues to grow in size and prestige each year, and the quality of works is just amazing.

"I'd encourage everyone to come along and share in this great night and show their support for Broken Hill's premier art event."

Doors open at 6pm with official proceedings commencing from 6:30pm.

Light finger food and full bar facilities will be available.

Council wishes to acknowledge the generous contribution of Ms Raylee Hart and the Hart family for their assistance in funding this Prize.
