Furniture funding for library

The city's new library has received a further boost, with Minister for the Arts the Hon. John Graham announcing $500,000 funding for new furniture.
The funding is part of the NSW Government's 2024-25 Public Library Infrastructure Grants, and will help offset the cost of fitting out the new library.
Mayor Tom Kennedy thanked the NSW Government for their support of the project, and said he looked forward to its completion.
"With a new library of this size, the cost to furnish it was always going to be pretty significant," said Mayor Kennedy.
"This funding will provide a huge boost and ensure we can fit out the library with some excellent furniture for users.
"I commend the Government for supporting this important project for our city, and I look forward to seeing the new facility when it is completed.”
Construction of the new library remains on track to be completed in September/October, with furniture installation and transfer of library resources and services into the new facility expected to be carried out once works are complete.
