Councillors will work with legal representatives to provide further input into investigations around the Civic Centre.

Mayor Darriea Turley AM said the matter was discussed at a confidential meeting last night to ensure Council's legal case surrounding the Civic Centre was not inadvertently compromised.

"As most people would know, the current legal case limits what we can say publicly at this stage so this matter was handled in a closed meeting," said Mayor Turley.

"Even though the submissions are part of ongoing processes around the Civic Centre, we remain mindful of not interfering with legal matters, and decided to err on the side of caution when discussing this item."

Mayor Turley said all Councillors had been invited to lodge a submission with Council as part of the process, and all submissions would be forwarded.
