Motorists are advised that as of August 3, Gypsum Street will be closed for major road works between Rowe Lane and Mercury Street.

The works will involve a complete reconstruction of the road and curbs, improved drainage, and the installation accessible ramps.

Refuge islands will also be constructed in the intersection of Cornish Street.

The works are expected to be completed in late September, weather permitting.

Local traffic access will be available for those that live in areas affected by the works.

The $870,000 reconstruction project has been funded through a NSW Government block grant and the NSW Government's Safer Roads program.
