A Home in the Outback was established in 2024 by Katherine Spackman to build a portfolio of stories about people living in the far west of New South Wales for website, podcast and magazine. In 2024 she was successful in receiving a CASP (Country Arts Support Project) through West Darling Arts to help establish her as a content producer. During this time Katherine was also published by Galah Magazine and NSW Law Society. In 2025 Katherine was employed as the backfill rural reporter for ABC Broken Hill. In 2026 Katherine returns to university to study highschool teaching. She continues to write in her space time.
