The Broken Hill City Council is inviting creative minds from across the globe to come to Broken Hill and create exciting work, as part of its Artists Residencies program.
A Request For Quotation (RFQ) has been made public for three Artist in Residence places, funded by Arts NSW and Council.
Each artist will spend time in the city creating works that explore and amplify Broken Hill's position as Australia’s First National Heritage Listed City.
The artists will also engage with the community through workshops, exhibitions, and other public events to share their skills and further their understanding of the city.
Council’s Gallery and Museum Manager, Tara Callaghan, said it will be fascinating to see visiting artists' interpretation of Broken Hill.
"This program provides a fresh perspective on the city, and I'm sure will result in some fascinating artistic creations," said Tara.
"We'll be asking artists to interpret, disrupt, illuminate and activate Broken Hill as a ‘Living Museum’.
"We are looking for local, national, and international applicants for these residencies and we look forward to seeing a dynamic range of submissions.
"Community engagement is one of the key factors in the process, so it will be great to offer locals more interaction with artists, and the arts scene itself.
"We'd like to thank Arts NSW for their funding support which makes this program possible."
Council will accept quotations from interested artists until 3pm, 26 April, 2017.
Quotation offer forms are available on request by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
