The Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery offers a range of workshops and public programs designed to meet the needs of both the community and visitors.
Regular children’s and adult's art workshops and public lectures are facilitated by both our staff and visiting artists that provide a diverse range of learning experiences.
Drawing Today - Rick Ball
This workshop is designed to encourage and work with the different needs and interests of those attending, respecting these, rather than pushing any one approach to what makes a "good drawing". We will simply explore what drawing can be for us today, in Broken Hill.

Introduction to Tapestry - Blake Griffiths
Learn how to set a fixed frame loom and the basic techniques for on-frame weaving, then take home your frame for further weaving. Be sure to bring all those odd balls of wool you have been meaning to use! Repeat class members welcome to continue.

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
Hypnotist Dr. Caligari uses a somnambulist, Cesare, to commit murders. Drinks and snacks available on the night.

Join us for a social afternoon in the permanent gallery to celebrate the re-installation of our city's collection. Enjoy wine tastings from Trentham Estate Winery from Mildura and local produce from Sunraysia.

Our education program is specifically targeted to primary and secondary schools and includes guided tours and workshop activities designed to provide a meaningful and engaging learning experience. We also provide tours and activities for other community groups and visitors. Bookings for educational programs do need to be organised in advance.
