Base salary $95,188 – $101,998 plus super (negotiable based on experience)
Council is seeking a suitably qualified applicant to fill the permanent full time role of Strategic Land Use Planner.
Reporting directly to the Manager Operations, Planning, Development and Compliance, the Strategic Land Use Planner will develop and implement strategic land use plans to manage urban growth effectively, shaping the direction for development in the city. This position will also manage Council owned land and Crown lands in compliance with relevant legislation and the objectives within the LEP.
This newly created role, will see the successful applicant have the opportunity to provide a lasting legacy for the community, by creating great places for people to live and work, whilst carefully balancing the housing, employment, transport, leisure, and recreation needs of the city.
To experience success in this role, you will have tertiary qualification in urban and regional planning, and experience in planning, property and land management. You will have knowledge of the Local Government Act 1993, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act; being able to interpret legislation, provide sound advice and write complex reports for management or other stakeholders. We are seeking a highly motivated person that prides themselves on their ability to communicate, engage and/or manage a variety of stakeholders, projects and processes.
