Ordinary Council meetings are held at 6:30pm on the last Wednesday of every month, unlless changed by a motion of Council. Typically Council moves to hold their December meeting earlier in the month and to not hold a meeting in January.
Council is committed to keeping the community informed.
Council agendas are made publicly available and are usually uploaded on to Council's website the Friday prior to the ordinary monthly Council meeting.
Minutes from the previous Council meeting are also made publicly available as soon as is possible after they have been endorsed.
Agendas and minutes can also be viewed at the City Library or at Council's Administrative Centre.
Members of the public attending Council meetings have an opportunity to address Council by way of a public forum session (see link below to guidelines and registration form). Forms are also available at the City Library and the Administrative Building.
Registered speakers will be invited to address Council during a twenty minute public forum session held at each ordinary monthly Council meeting with each speaker limited to a period of two minutes.
Registered speakers who wish to receive a written response to their question must fill in the return address on the registration form.
To register please complete the registration form and hand to a Council staff member at the Council meeting at least fifteen minutes prior to the commencement of the meeting. The form can also be emailed to Council or handed in at Council's Administrative Building any day prior to the meeting, or up until 4:30pm on the Council meeting day.
Any questions raised by registered speakers that are not answered at the Council meeting, and taken on notice, are reported to the following month's Council meeting under the section "Questions on Notice".
Registration forms to speak during the Public Forum Session at Council Meetings can be downloaded from our forms page.
