Council is developing a new website to better serve and inform the local community, and is inviting locals to browse the site and provide feedback.

The new site will feature an improved, simplified interface, and also increase accessibility.

"We recognise our current site does some things well, and others not so well," said Council's Digital Officer, Luke Dart.

"Our new site will be easier to navigate, feature new easier to use forms, and importantly, will be far more disability-friendly.

"When we talk about our Disability Inclusion Action Plan, it's not limited to just ramps, kerbs, and footpaths.

"It's about striving to be inclusive in all aspects of our business, and that includes ensuring that all members of our community have equity of access to information and services."

Although Council is excited about the capabilities of the new site, Mr Dart reiterated that it is still in a ‘beta’ test phase.

"People can get in and have a look around and get a feel for the aesthetic and layout of the new website, but we would ask them to remember that it is still very much a work in progress," he said.

"However people will be able to browse the site and provide comments via a feedback panel at the bottom of each page.

"We'll continue to add more content and features to the beta site until it is ready to replace our existing one, but in the meantime people should continue to use our existing site when conducting their business with Council."

Council's new website can be found right here - welcome!
