Competition - The visitor

The competition theme "The Visitor" was chosen with the pandemic in mind however, entrants can interpret the theme in anyway they choose to spark creative prose in the form of a fiction, non-fiction or poetry 500-word written piece.


Submissions closed on Friday 2nd October. Entries are now available for viewing and people's choice judging below.  Judging closes on Friday 30th October. Winners will be announced on Friday 13th November through participating organisations Facebook pages. Prize: $500 and inclusion on the eBook platform IndyReads

All entrants must live in the Far West New South Wales region, which includes residents of Broken Hill, Wentworth Shire Council, Central Darling Shire or the Western Unincorporated Area.
All entries must be the original and unpublished work of the entrant and not currently submitted for publication, any other competition or award.
Writers can submit multiple entries, each entry requires individual submission.
All entrants must agree that the participating organisations reserve the right to publish, broadcast, or publicly perform all submitted works for promotional purposes only.
Credit will be given to the author/alias at all times.
The author retains copyright of their work at all times.
Employees, Board members and immediate family of all participating organisations are ineligible to enter.
