All of Council's facilities are currently in the process of gradually reopening after being interrupted due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Please note that Council is taking a cautious approach to all facility reopenings in order to meet Government requirements, and ensure the safety of the community and staff.
As part of these precautionary measures, there will be some changes to the Albert Kersten Mining & Minerals Museum. In order to protect the safety and wellbeing of our visitors, community and tourists we will be operating under new operating hours and enforcing a maximum capacity.
How This Will Work
Our opening hours will change to reflect our current capacities. The Albert Kersten Mining & Minerals Museum will open Tuesdays - Saturdays. We will open Tuesday - Friday at 10am - 4pm. Saturdays will 10am - 2pm. Our maximum capacity will be 20 people total. When we reach a capacity of twenty we will close our doors until customers depart. We will not enforce time limits during your visit. During business hours, staff is able to assist you via phone; 08 8080 3501.
Your Safety Is Important To Us
As part of our reopening we have:
- Added protective screens at our front counter
- Have added directional floor signage throughout the Museum
- Placed all stock in cases. We request you ask for staff aide when purchasing.
- Are currently cashless.
- Cleaning in progress during the day.
We strive to maintain a clean and safe environment for you. Throughout the day our staff will clean all contact surfaces throughout the Museum before the next session begins.
