Council is looking to make kids' exercise more affordable with today’s launch of its pilot Children’s Sport and Activity Voucher program.

The voucher offers a $25 reduction in fees for kids (between 4-18 years) when they sign up to a sporting group or activity provider offering a program of physical activity.

Parents simply apply for a voucher using the form below, then provide their child's sporting body with the uniquely generated receipt number.

The sporting body then reduces the participant's fees by $25, and invoices Council for a rebate.

500 vouchers will be available until April 2020, or until the allocation has been exhausted.

Mayor Darriea Turley encouraged all local parents to take advantage of the program.

"It's a quick and easy way to make sport and exercise more affordable for families, and help ensure the city's kids have every opportunity to live a healthy, active life," said Mayor Turley.

"It's only a pilot program at this stage, but if it proves popular we'll certainly look at extending it into the future."
