The creative work of the city's Artists in Residence for 2019 will go on show next week.

"The Terrestrial Scene" by collaborative duo Rachel Peachey and Paul Mosig will be on exhibition at 119-121 Chloride Street from 2pm-7.30pm from October 31 to November 3.

The multimedia installation combines projection, screen-based work, sound and found objects to tell a story of landscape transformation, and the opposing forces of community and commerce, and nature and industry.

Locals will be able to chat with the artists at the exhibition's official launch at the gallery at 3pm on November 2.

Council's Gallery and Museum Manager, Tara Callaghan, encouraged all locals with an interest in art or the city's industrial history to experience the exhibition.

"The city's industrial and commercial history and its effect on the landscape and the community is often studied and spoken about, but it rarely gets considered through a purely artistic lens," said Ms Callaghan.

"It's always refreshing to view the city through a different perspective, and I think locals from all walks of life will find the work truly fascinating."

The Artist In Residence program is supported by CreateNSW and Broken Hill City Council.
