Residents are advised that access to Brown Street will be limited while Council seals the road.

The project will be carried out by Council staff and preparation for the works is already underway.

Council's Chief Operations Officer, Anthony Misagh, said the works would benefit locals and visitors alike.

"Sealing this road provides better and safer conditions for Brown Street residents, and also provides a convenient link for tourists visiting the Living Desert and Silverton," he said.

Mr Misagh said works have been scheduled for completion during the second quarter of 2020.

"It's obviously a big job that straddles the tricky Christmas period, but we want to get works underway now to take advantage of the warmer weather which assists with bituminisation," he said.

"It's a pretty rocky area and of course we can never predict what the weather will do, but we'll be aiming to get the job finished as quickly as possible."
