Broken Hill is gearing up for a massive end to April with a jam-packed schedule of local events taking place over the next fortnight.

The action kicks off at 6pm on Thursday night (April 14) with the Heritage Highlights show to launch the 2022 Heritage Festival.

Heritage Highlights will be held at the rear of the Town Hall Facade and features projection of historic images and Union Meeting re-enactments at 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm.

Food will be provided by local vendors and limited bar facilities will be available on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.

Other events in the Heritage Festival include:

Heritage Walk Tours, 'Our Mineral Rainforest' geological tour with Ross Clark, a motorcade of vintage cars and motorbikes, and the ever-popular Cemetery Walk Tours with Christine Adams.

There will also be a Gaara Arts Restrospectives exhibition (April 15-30, Trades Hall), Silver City Quilters Exhibition (April 19-20, 10am-4pm, Aged Person's Rest Centre), and the 'Boneyard Sessions' music performance at Trades Hall.

Fringe Festival events are also being held in Argent Street between 4pm-8pm on April 19, 20, and 24 to complement the Mundi Mundi Bash, including live music, drag queens, walk tours, milkshakes by Bells Milk Bar, and a Visitor Information Kiosk.

The month will wind down on a more sombre note, with locals and visitors invited to remember Australia's fallen service men and women on ANZAC Day.

The traditional Dawn Service will be held at the Argent Street War Memorial at 6am, followed by the March at 10.30am, and the Main Service at 11am. A Friends of ANZAC Lunch will also be held at the Civic Centre from 1pm, bookings essential.
