Archibald Prize in Broken Hill

The 2020 finalists from Australia's most famous portraiture prize will go on show next month as the Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery hosts The Archibald Prize exhibition.

The exhibition will be officially opened at 6.30pm on July 9 by Mayor Darriea Turley AM, along with special guests from the Art Gallery of NSW and International Art Services.

Attendees will be treated to catering from Lee Cecchin of Pandoras Palate, full bar facilities will be available, and music will be provided by expert local pianist, Robert Devoy.

Mayor Turley encouraged anyone with an interest in quality art to book their place early.

"It's going to be an amazing evening, the Archibald always provides an compelling array of unique and interesting artworks," said Mayor Turley.

"However we do have limited capacity, so I'd encourage anyone planning to attend to book early.

"I look forward to seeing everyone there on the night to share in this famous exhibition."

Bookings can be made by contacting the Gallery or online, and entry on the night will be via donation.

Gallery doors will open at 6pm, with official proceedings to commence at 6.30pm.

Please note that Gallery is a cashless facility, and EFT will be available for all purchases.

Following the opening night, the Archibald works will be on display until August 22, 2021.
