Australian Women Pilots' Association National Conference

Next date: Friday, 23 April 2021 | 06:00 AM to Sunday, 25 April 2021 | 12:00 PM

The National AWPA conference is held in a different state each year. In 2020 the NSW/ACT branch chose iconic Broken Hill for our conference. Due to health and welfare concerns we will now hold our conference in 2021.

Our slogan this year is "Find your Wildside, Fly the Outback".

The AWPA was formed in 1950 by the late Mrs. Nancy-Bird Walton, a pioneering Australian aviatrix. Nancy invited women pilots from all states to meet, allowing those with similar interests to have closer contact with each other.  Nancy-Bird participated in the 1938 airshow in Broken Hill.

With over 500 members nation-wide, each year the AWPA makes available a range of scholarships and awards that create opportunities for learning how to fly or improving flying skills for all ages and levels of flying experience.

Our conference is opened to non-members, in particular our Education session Friday April 3, 2020. The session will focus on safely flying in the outback.

So you can "Find your Wildside, Fly the Outback".
