Council maintains in excess of 30 passive and active parks and reserves for the use and enjoyment of residents, as well as sport, recreation and community organisations.
Broken Hill's parks are a great place for family picnics and barbecues or just to relax.
Two new Dog-off-leash areas have been established for the convenience of Dog Owners. Queen Elizabeth Park via Chapple Street and Patton Park via South Street. Council is in the process of making these areas permanent which includes permanent fencing, seating and bins. (Dogs are permitted at most of the City's parks as long as they are on leads. Please ensure that you clean up after your animals).
Some parks and ovals are used by sport and recreation groups for activities such as football, rugby, cricket, soccer, hockey, baseball, softball and many other outdoor leisure pursuits. Parks can be booked for sporting groups, community events and private functions.
Broken Hill's parks and reseves have a vast array of features from barbeques and playgrounds to public toilets.
