DESIGN DRAFTSMAN - TS113
(Salary $55,164 + superannuation)
THE POSITION
Reports to the Assets Manager and will interact closely with other Infrastructure staff including Civil Engineers, Cadets and Assistants, Asset Planners and Supervisory staff. The Design Draftsman will be pivotal in the development of engineering designs and drawings including CAD drafting, technical documentation and contract and project management. Responsibilities will include technical backup to operating personnel, development of traffic control plans and a management system for engineering drawings and technical documentation as well as management of minor projects.
THE PERSON
The successful applicant will have a Trade Certificate in a building related discipline, a minimum of three years recent and relevant experience including the interpretation and development of technical drawings and plans using AutoCAD. Ability to translate technical discussions with engineers and others for development of construction drawings or technical specifications and fabrication and construction works drawings and plans. High level computer and communication skills. Experience in local government or a similar industry and knowledge of asset maintenance principles and project and contract management would be an advantage.
