Can I pay my rates through Centrepay?
Through Centrepay you can choose to have regular money for services such as Council Rates and other Council services deducted fortnightly from your regular Centrelink payment.
Centrepay is a free direct bill paying service offered to customers receiving Centerlink payments.
Why use Centrepay?
Instead of having large bills every month or quarter, Centrepay helps you pay your bills in manageable amounts, making it easier to budget.
How does Centrepay work?
An agreed amount is deducted from your Centrelink payment before the payment is deposited into your bank account.
Who can use Centrepay?
Anyone receiving a Centrelink payment, including families receiving Family Tax Benefit through Centrelink, can use Centerpay.
Will it cost me anything?
The service is free and you can vary the amount you wish to have deducted at any time.
How do I apply for Centrepay?
You can apply using the attached application form.
Council Service Provider's Centerpay Reference Number is 555 057213L
Your account number is your Rates Assessment Number.
Alternatively, visit www.centrelink.gov.au, or your nearest Centrelink office or you can call Centrelink on your regular payment phone number.
Deduction forms are also available from the Customer Relations or Revenue Team, Council's Administration Centre, 240 Blende Street, Broken Hill.
